The Cloudy Blue Vintage finish by Lamberti Design gives a brighter coloration to stainless steel instead of the usual painting options. The brushing process gives a cloudy aspect to the metal surface, creating a more opaque satin finish due to the multidirectional brushing processes. The Stainless Steel, also known in Italy as Inox, is an iron-carbon alloy that shows good resistance to oxidation and its corrosion. This is mainly due to the presence of chromium (between 12-18%) able to form an invisible layer that protects the metal from further oxidation. Mechanical and chemical cleaning steps can significantly influence the final quality surface. In addition, the preparation itself can speed up and “standardize” the quality of the final products. Starting from these considerations, Lamberti Design has developed a process with several physical and chemical treatments, to obtain a uniform blue finish, with possible slight color variations to sky-blue and deep blue. If a clear coat is not applied, the surface will produce casual spots and color variations, giving a “vintage” touch to the final object. To avoid this problem, the metal surface is then protected with a clear coat that ensures a uniform color. This finish is both for indoor and outdoor applications. If applied outdoor the exposure to atmospheric agents could cause chromatic variations. The environmental conditions, the geometry and the shape of the products, combined with the artisanal processes, make the final pieces unique; in fact, any chromatic variations on the final objects compared to photos and samples received, are intrinsic characteristics of the process and not manufacturing defects.Care and cleaning instructions of metals
Liquids can stain any metal surfaces, therefore we recommend cleaning with a soft slightly damp cloth with neutral soapsuds, and then following using a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive materials, aggressive detergents, acetone, solvents and alcohol to clean metal surfaces.
